Kitakyushu Block Party | Kokura

12.16.25

For four days, skateboarding took over Kokura. Nike SB's Kitakyushu Block Party unfolded across six different locations throughout the city - turning everyday urban spaces into open skate sessions and shared moments with the local community. From the street corners to unexpected spots, each location offered a different energy, pushing skaters to adapt, explore, and connect with the city in real time. What emerged wasn't just a series of sessions, but a moving skate landscape - raw, spontaneous, and unmistakably Kokura.

The sessions brought together a powerful mix of generations and styles. Ryuhei Kitazume, Taihou Tokura, Daisuke Ikeda, Yuro Nagahara, Keyaki Ike, Yurin Fujii, Daiki Ikeda, Issei Sakurai, Wakyo Sakamoto, Hayate Kamimura, Ren Suematsu, Rio Sawa, and Soya Inomata all showed up and delivered—alongside Nike SB contenders sharpening their edge ahead of the contest.

More than tricks, the Block Party was about presence. Showing up. Skating side by side. Letting the city speak through concrete, steel, and motion.

This is skateboarding as culture—unfiltered, collective, and alive in the streets of Kitakyushu.
