Combining the nostalgia of the old school skate shops and the DIY perseverance of punk, Bluetile Skateboards is owner David Toole’s outlet for expression. More than a brick-and-mortar, Bluetile’s a destination where shop talk gets as heavy as the sessions themselves. Drawing on Toole’s deep knowledge of skate shoes and storytelling, the Nike SB Bluetile Dunk Low Pro illustrates a natural phenomenon through an iconic silhouette.
Created with suede overlays and textured underlays, the Bluetile Dunk Low’s destitched heel straps reveal a vivid migrating monarch wing pattern. Altering the Swoosh branding with a custom netted material, the Bluetile Dunk features debossed and stitched details that add layers to the overall butterfly theme. Playing with color, contrast, and local roots, the outsole and sockliners use gradient fades to emulate nature’s unique hues. Completed with fuzzy laces and monarch-themed vamp artwork, every element emphasizes Bluetile’s local flavor and eye for aesthetics.
